Detailed Description

Dennett introduced the Intentional Stance as a tool to explain the behavior of intelligent entities, such as humans and animals, that are not easily understood through physical or design explanations alone. The stance assumes that these entities have mental states like beliefs, desires, and intentions, which guide their actions. By adopting this perspective, we can make accurate predictions about their behavior without needing to understand the underlying physical mechanisms.
